Why I Chose to Import and Sell Japanese Knives
Share
Japanese knives have become incredibly popular around the world, with many people traveling to Japan just to purchase them.
However, the current reality is that some knives sold online in Australia are of poor quality or are cheap knives made in countries like China, yet they are falsely marketed as Japanese knives. Additionally, many of the knives available in stores are made by overseas brands, which means that the truly high-quality knives used by professional chefs in Japan are not easily found in Australia.
As someone who works in the restaurant industry in Australia, I often hear from fellow chefs that they cannot trust the knives they find online.
This is why I decided to take matters into my own hands and approached the CEO of a reputable Japanese knife company to request their cooperation in providing their products.
This company represents Japan’s famous Sakai knives, and they provide some of the few authentic, high-quality knives still made in Japan.
